About Lifting Dreams
Lifting Dreams is a registered non-profit company dedicated to uplifting communities through educational support in underprivileged schools. We currently run weekly academic programs in Soweto, Mamelodi, and Potchefstroom, facilitated by both contract tutors and a wonderful team of volunteers. Our goal is to help children excel across various academic levels.


Vision:
We aim to inspire hope by supporting education and dismantling racial barriers. Our goal is to make learning enjoyable, unlock children's potential, and encourage them to pursue higher education and contribute to their communities.


Values:
Our program is child-centered and committed to relentless giving and serving communities with excellence. Leadership is crucial, and we focus on developing leaders to support the program's sustainability and longevity, ensuring it endures beyond current participants.

Mamelodi Container Project:

The Need

UNICEF, May 2023:
148 million children worldwide under 5 years old suffer from stunting due to poor nutrition. We aim to provide nutritious meals for less than R3 per meal from a safe and reliable environment.

What We Serve

Our kitchen serves porridge that contains all the essential proteins, vitamins, and minerals needed for growing children.

  • High-protein porridge with 55 key nutrients.
  • Gluten and lactose-free.
  • 13 vitamins, 19 amino acids, and 10 minerals.


Kitchen Details

Our container kitchens are scalable, eco-friendly, and cost-effective:

  • No gas or electricity needed.
  • Clean and environmentally friendly.
  • Lockable steel structure, durable, and weather-resistant.
  • Capable of serving 500-2000 meals per day.
